Experiencing issues with your mobile phone not charging on the Jasper charging shelf or SMART Charge Table?

Here is a step-by-step guide designed to help troubleshoot and resolve some of the challenges that you may arise.

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

1. Check Device Compatibility

  • Devices with Qi-enabled technology are compatible with our charging tables.
  • Align your phone with the charging shelf's area for optimal charging, considering the varied internal coil locations in different phones.

2. Update Phone Software

  • Keep your phone's software updated to the latest version. After updating, restart your device to ensure all software changes are updated.
  • Note: The iPhone 12 has known issues that are resolved by this step.

3. Check Indicator Light

  • When the table is plugged in, observe if the red indicator light flashes (it should flash for 2 seconds upon powering on). This light helps locate the optimal charging spot.
  • Place your device on the table for at least 2 seconds. For best results, align the phone vertically over the light, ensuring it is centrally located over the charging plate.
  • Hover the phone vertically over the red indicator light, which is more effective in pinpointing the charger over a larger surface area. The more the device is centred, the better.

4. Troubleshoot Power Issues

  • If the indicator light doesn't flash upon plugging in the table, the issue may lie with the shelf or power connection.
  • Try turning the power on and off at the main switch. Check if the indicator light flashes on.
  • Inspect all connections to the power supply.
  • Note: Remove any phone covers or cases, as they may inhibit charging.

Speed of Charging

  • The charging speed varies based on device compatibility.
  • King SMART tables provide up to 15W of power (for orders after June 7th, 2021; previously 5W).
  • Different devices have varied charging speeds (e.g. Apple supports 7.5W, some Androids up to 15W).
  • Overheating can prevent charging. Ensure your device is cool before placing it on the charger.
