Our outdoor fabrics are engineered for resilience against various weather conditions, but routine upkeep is key to maintaining their pristine condition. Here is a detailed guide with handy tips to ensure proper fabric care:

Immediate Action for Fresh Spills

The key to maintaining the vibrancy of your outdoor fabrics is prompt action. For new spills or stains:

  • Spray the affected area with a mild cleaning solution or KingCare® Fabric Cleaner.
  • Gently brush the solution into the fabric.
  • Let it sit for 2-3 minutes.
  • Rinse with clean water.
  • Pat dry with a soft, dye-free cloth and let it air dry.

Routine Cleaning

For general upkeep:

  • Brush away any debris using a soft brush.
  • Lightly hose down the fabric.
  • Clean with KingCare® Fabric Cleaner or a mix of mild soap and warm water (max 40°C).
  • Rinse and pat dry with a dye-free cloth. Let it air dry.
  • Avoid using power washers or pressure hoses.

Addressing Oil-Based Stains

For oil stains:

  • Immediately sprinkle an absorbent like corn starch on the stain.
  • After 10 minutes, scrape off the excess using a straight edge.
  • Follow with the standard cleaning process.

Seam-to-Seam Approach

To prevent water rings and uneven shades:

  • Clean the entire fabric surface, from one seam to the next, rather than spot cleaning.

Handling Mould and Mildew

While our fabrics resist mildew growth, it can form on uncleaned dirt or residues. To tackle this:

  • Mix 1 cup of bleach, 1/4 cup of mild soap with 4L of water.
  • Spray the solution on the affected area and let it sit for 15 minutes.
  • Clean the surface with a sponge or soft brush.
  • Rinse thoroughly and air dry.

Professional Cleaning

If opting for professional cleaning:

  • Ensure the cleaner is experienced with outdoor fabrics and is aware of King Living's care recommendations.

Additional Tips

  • Always clean the entire fabric surface to prevent water rings.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaning methods.
  • Only air dry the fabric.
  • Use KingGuard® for re-treatment after thorough cleaning.

Re-treating with KingGuard®

Over time, the repellent finish on Outdoor fabrics may need replenishing. For this:

  • Clean the fabric as instructed.
  • Once air-dried, re-apply KingGuard® protection.
